“It
is rewarding to assist small businesses and entrepreneurs with their
support needs. With today’s technology, it is as if I am in the
same office” says Michelle Murphy, founder and Principal of Murphy
Assistants.
What
exactly is a virtual assistant? And how can they help my business?
A
virtual assistant is a small business owner who specializes in
administrative and business support services. Just as an in office
staff will support your organization; a virtual assistant will use
today’s technology to perform routine office tasks.
Proofreading,
editing, marketing support, and web design are just some of the
services that are offered by this industry. It is important to find
the proper VA for your business needs. An initial consultation with
a virtual assistant is a good way to determine whether they are a
good “fit” for your organization. They will also need to be sure
that your organization is a good “fit” for them.
What
type of business can benefit from a virtual assistant?
A
wide variety of business types can benefit from partnering with a
virtual assistant. A virtual assistant will partner with an
organization for a long term assignment or for a one time project.
With a virtual assistant as your business partner, you will save the
overhead expenses connected with hiring additional in house staff. A
virtual assistant works from their fully functional office and
brings the expertise that you require to complete your project in a
timely manner.
